Were you excited when you decided to adopt?
Since we found out so early in our marriage that we wouldn't have any biological children, adoption was on our minds for a very long time. We thought it would just happen when we were ready, so we were VERY excited! After four years of marriage we decided it was time to start the adoption classes and paperwork and we were excited and also curious about the process.
Others have a far different experience. Some may be excited, while the spouse may be hesitant. Maybe both are hesitant; especially about openness in adoption. The best suggestion I have is to determine what are the myths about adoption and what is the truth. It may surprise you!
