A Quick Getaway

We actually managed to take a quasi vacation last week. We had to go to Vegas because my newest niece, Maddison, was being blessed. So we spent the day with my family. Then the next day we drove down to Palm Desert California (it’s on I-10 just south of Joshua Tree National Park last week. We had a great time. It was really hot though. It got up to 115 degrees. Needless to say we watched some movies and read books INSIDE our air conditioned villa. I love working for Marriott because we get to stay at sweet resorts when we vacation. We visited the pool at night which was nice. We did leave the villa a couple of times though. We took an open-air jeep tour out through the San Andreas Fault. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out many things about the history and geology of the area. The next day we visited ‘The Living Desert’ which is a zoo. We had a great (HOT) time there. We saw all sorts of desert animals. Jessica loved the baby giraffe but I really liked the Meerkats. On the way home we stopped in Vegas for the night so that we didn’t have to drive it all in one day. We spent the evening swimming at the hotel with my nephew Thomas and then we met my sisters for lunch the next day before returning home. It was nice to get away, but so nice to be home.
